Gaza’s Interior Ministry has officially denied rumours that Black Bloc, Egypt’s controversial protest group, has moved within its borders, following accusations on social networking site Facebook. "The Interior Ministry did not monitor any members of Black Bloc inside the Gaza Strip,” a security source told Arabstoday. “Not everything written on social media is necessarily true.” Black Bloc meanwhile released a statement claiming it had established a new group inside Palestine and was training members in “street fighting, climbing tall buildings and the use of weapons” in order to “challenge the Israeli occupation and Palestinian divisions.” The controversial group warned against “any attack on any Black Bloc member.” Black Bloc, already present in Egypt and Tunisia, demanded Palestinian security forces in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip to commit to national unity, threatening “no mercy” if commitments to reconciliation were wavered in coming weeks.
