A gas leak from an electric generator killed 13 members of one family in Yemen’s Raimah province on Tuesday. A security souce told Arab Today that the family members, among them women and children, were suffocated in their sleep on Tuesday morning. "Preliminary investigations indicate the cause of death was inhalation of gas from an electric generator, which leaked in their home while they were asleep, suffocating them to death,” the source said. Frequent electricity cuts mean the domestic use of electric generators is common in Yemen, but families often ignore safety guidelines, which can cause fatal accidents. Tuesday’s news comes less than a month after a generator explosion killed 14 family members in the province Mahweet, west of the capital Sanaa.
