
Seventeen Muslim pilgrims were injured in two separate incidents early Sunday in Mina, Makkah, said a source here Sunday.
Civil defense spokesman Abdullah Al-Harthi said five pilgrims fell while trying to climb a mountain, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Twelve other pilgrims were injured when rocks fell on them in Mina, said the source.
Hajj pilgrims headed to Mina after performing Hajj's greatest ritual standing at Mount Arafah. In Mina, pilgrims are expected to throw pebbles at a wall personifying the Iblis (devil).
