Moussa Abu Marzouk, a senior member of the Hamas political bureau, praised the Jordanian House of Representatives for passing an unanimous motion in protest against Israeli provocations at al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. The parliamentary decision called upon the Jordanian government to expel Israel’s ambassador to Amman and recall the Jordanian ambassador to Tel Aviv. Marzouk stated via Facebook: "The Jordanian parliament’s vote is an excellent and commendable step. We are waiting for the implementation of this popular motion and expect a similar step from the Egyptian parliament." The Jordanian move follows the arrest of Muhammed Hussein, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories, by Israeli forces on Wednesday. The Sunni cleric was released after hours of interrogation.
