Haniyeh to Egypt to discuss fuel, power

Hamas Prime Minister in Gaza Ismail Haniyeh will head to Cairo on Monday to discuss the fuel and power crisis in Gaza, Palestinian sources said. Haniyeh’s political adviser, Youssef Rizqa, said on Sunday that Haniyeh will also discuss the Rafah border crossing during his meeting with Egyptian officials. The Palestinian power authority on Monday said Egypt did not provide Gaza with the fuel required to operate the power plant as the country had promised. On Saturday, Egypt promised to pump diesel fuel to Gaza’s power plant on Sunday.
