Iran's Khamenei warns against attack on Syria

Any military intervention by the United States in Syria will spell "disaster" for the region, Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned on Wednesday. "The US intervention will be a disaster for the region," Khamenei told a meeting with the cabinet of Iranian President Hassan Rowhani, state television reported. "The region is like a gunpowder depot. (Its) future cannot be predicted" in case of a military strike against Syria, he added.  Source: AFP Earlier, Iran's foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif condemned any possible military intervention in Syria, warning of "graver conditions," should strikes be carried out, Iran's Fars state news agency reported.
