A group of Palestinian fighters survived an Israeli air raid on Thursday morning carried out by the Israeli Defence Force (IDF) planes east of the town of Beit Hanoun, North the Gaza Strip. “An Israeli warplane fired at least one missile at the Palestinian fighters as they tried to launch homemade rockets toward the Israeli settlements adjacent to the Strip. The group members, however, survived the shelling,” an eyewitness told ‘Arabstoday’. Meanwhile, several Israeli military vehicles, based on the borders of the Gaza Strip, fired missiles at the town, whereas machine-guns from Israeli Air Force (IAF) helicopters fired at residents’ houses on the borders, according to witnesses. Israeli warplanes are currently still roaming the skies of the Strip. This came after Israel announced that 8 rockets were fired at Negev from Gaza. Haaretz stated that no property damages or physical injuries were reported. No Palestinian faction has claimed responsibility for the Negev attack, whereas Israel announced the increasing of security forces in the southern region to thwart further anticipated attacks from Gaza.
