Israel tells Egypt: do not let Erdogan into Gaza

Israeli Military sources have said that the Israeli Marine Corps is concerned about Turkish threats to send warships to guide aid ships headed for Gaza. Sources suggest that the Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan has appointed Turkish soldiers in key military positions to rescue aid ships from any potential confrontation with Israel. An Israeli military source stated: “we still don’t know to what extent those threats are serious, but we can’t ignore that there is a threat on our security.’’ A Ministry of War official, Amoon Gilaad, said in an interview with an Israeli radio station on Tuesday “Turkey can lose a lot because of its extreme behavior towards Israel.” Meanwhile, Israel has warned Egypt of the consequences that it might face if it allows the Turkish President to enter the Gaza Strip, which has been under Israeli blockade since Hamas took over in 2006. Erdogan is scheduled to arrive to Egypt on September 12th, for “an attempt to launch strategic cooperation” between Turkey and Egypt’s interim government. According to World Tribune Newspaper, Erdogan has asked on Egypt to allow him to visit the Gaza Strip during his visit to Egypt.
