Jordan military plane crashes, pilot survives

A Jordanian air force plane on a training flight crashed on Sunday due to a technical fault, but the pilot survived the accident, state-run Petra news agency said. On Sunday, "around noon (0900 GMT), a Royal Jordanian Air Force plane crashed after encountering a technical problem," Petra quoted an army statement as saying. The pilot, "Capitan Ahmad Hazem Alawneh survived the crash," it said, without giving further details. In May 2013, another Jordanian military plane, a Firefly, crashed in the north of the kingdom because of technical problems, killing the pilot and a trainee. Source: AFP
