Jordan’s King Abdullah II will be making a speech addressing the General Assembly of the United Nations, where he will state his reviews on the current events in the Arab region and ways to achieve peace in the Middle East, in addition to a number of other world issues. The King departed Jordan to the US on Saturday, where the Jordanian delegation will be participating in the meetings of the 66th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations in New York. King Abdullah is scheduled to meet the UN’s Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon in addition to a number of world leaders and delegations, and prominent political figures, to discuss bilateral ties and developments in the Arab region and the world. The session begins next week and will also discuss issues such as the Palestinian statehood bid, the current situation in Libya and Syria, global ways of fighting terrorism, Cypriot negotiations, the Somali and African famine, and the prohibition of the dissemination of nuclear weapons.
