Jordan's King, Abdullah II issued a decree for the dissolution of parliament and holding early elections, after his return from "Latin America and the Arab world" Forum. A Royal decree – calling for parliamentary elections — was issued on Thursday. "We – Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan — pursuant to the first paragraph of rule 34 of the Constitution, are ordering to hold the parliamentary elections of the House of Representatives, in accordance with the provisions of the law," it stated. The dissolution of the 16th "House of Representatives" came before completing its constitutional term. It is anticipated that a decision by the head of the Independent Electoral Commission "Abdul Ilah al-Khatib" will be taken to set a date for the parliamentary elections. The Jordanian Monarch returned to Amman, on Thursday, after taking part in "Latin America and the Arab world" forum, and making a statement about his country in the United Nations.
