Judicial sources revealed to “Arabs Today” that the public prosecutors in Rabat accompanied by Moroccan officials are keeping a close eye on the ongoing investigations to unveil the killer of the King’s bodyguard, Swailem Abdullah Al Suwaidi. The bodyguard was shot at 11pm last Friday, and was taken to hospital by his friend who was with him at the time. On getting to the hospital, Swailem went under an operation under the supervision of a specialized doctor at 4am on Saturday morning. However, his injuries were too severe and he passed away on Tuesday night. The sources stated that the Moroccan investigators issued a warrant for the arrest of a suspect that they have in mind after giving out his description and national security number to officials around the country. It is suspected that the killer was accompanying the bodyguard on the night of the killing. Another warrant was issued for the arrest of a second suspect who is believed to have been the bodyguard’s friend. On Wednesday 13th July a funeral was held for Swailem, which was attended by his family and senior Moroccan officials ahead of them Sharqi Idris director-general of the National Security Agency and Governor of the Rabat-Salé-Zemmour-Zaer Hasan Omrani, in addition to a number of senior officials from the Moroccan Ministry of the Interior.
