The Lebanese Army announced, Saturday that 760 wanted people were arrested in December 2011. The Army Command issued a statement, saying “in a routine army security sweep during the month of December 2011, 760 law-breakers were arrested on various charges ranging between illegal entry into the country, involvement in petty criminality, drugs-narcotics' peddling and driving vehicles and motorcycles at high speed. About 118 stolen vehicles and 47 motorbikes along with a number of firearms, narcotics and illegal tobacco packets were seized in the process.” It added that those arrested and their confiscated goods have been handed over to respective courts for prosecution.
