Geagea launched a fierce attack on Lebanese security forces and officials of the security departments accusing them of helping in Iranian-Syrian plots assigned to Hezbollah, said the pess office of the President of the Lebanese Forces Party, Samir Geagea. In a statement to reporters he said: “Michel Samaha’s case led to the assassination of the head of the Lebanese information department General Wissam al-Hassan last week lied in the hand of others. It might have been covered so that Lebanon would see more destruction than that seen by the assassination of martyr al-Hassan,” refusing to name persons or bodies to which they belong, but pointing out that they are “Lebanese security officials and security bodies.” He said “After uncovering the plot of Samaha, Hassan dealt a blow to those seeking to turn Lebanon into a scene for regional and international [struggles]. The regime [of Syrian President Bashar] al-Assad is directly accused, alongside Iran, in planning for killing Hassan, and employing Hezbollah to carry out [the assassination].” Geagea added that “Hassan provoked the Syria-Iran-Hezbollah axis by clamping down on the security violations perpetrated by some of those who belong to Lebanese political movements affiliated with the Assad regime, which is living its last days.”
