The leader of the Israeli opposition Tzipi Livni met the Greek Foreign Minister, Stavros Lambrinidis, in Athens on Thursday, and thanked him for the way in which the Greek authorities dealt with the ships that had intended to sail from Greece to the Gaza Strip. Livni addressed the events that took place on the Turkish ship Marmara about a year ago, stating: "The soldiers who participated in the process of seizing the vessel acted under the orders given to them." Livni urged the Greek government not to allow organizations described as "extremist" to exploit the law in order to make lawsuits against Israeli soldiers. The Greek authorities prevented ships from "Freedom Flotilla 2" from sailing towards the Gaza Strip, while Mossad damaged some of them. The Israeli forces eventually seized the French ship "Dignity" which managed to sail towards Gaza, and they towed it to the port of Ashdod.
