A Palestinian man from southern Gaza was killed on Sunday night, after a corpse fell on him while working in a tunnel east of the southern town of Rafah. Ahmed Ezzat Zo’rob, aged 22 from Khan Younis, died after a corpse hit him while working on a tunnel connecting Gaza with Egypt, medical sources told Arabstoday. Both bodies were moved to the Abu Yousef al-Najjar Hospital in Rafah. Tunnelling work resumed on Monday morning following three days of closure due to hazardous weather conditions in the region. Human rights groups record 233 people have died in tunnel accidents since 2006. The total recorded figure is 597.
