Man self immolates in Jordan

A senior Jordanian citizen, burnt himself on Monday in the commercial market in downtown Amman. A medical source at the Al Bashir Hospital, said the state of the injured man  was critical as the fire consumed 90% of the surface of his body. There have been conflicting reports from eyewitnesses as to the nature of the burning and the reasons behind the act. Some claim he was unable to pay his  billswhile others said he was a government employee was fired from his job. The police confirmed they were investigating the matter and had notified the family. For its part, sources said the Greater Amman Municipality to the citizen, who has set fire to himself on Monday afternoon in the downtown area / Amman, according to the statement issued by the Directorate of General Security / Information Office is a former staff of the Secretariat and the work has the function of his officer.
