Martyrs memorial in Tahrir Square

Egypt’s ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces SCAF stated that it will make a memorial for the January 25 martyrs in Cairo’s Tahrir Square, at the Square Park from the army’s budget. The SCAF announced to make a contest for selecting the best design of this monument, allowing Egyptians only to participate in this contest. The participants can get the bid of requirements and specification from Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces, starting from January 25 to 10 February, and result will be announced on April 10 in a press conference. The SCAF also announced that the first winner’s prize is 100000 LE, the second 75000 LE, and the third is 50000LE. It’s worth mentioning that the Square Park is the center of most protests in Tahrir Square.
