The Muslim Council of Britain urged Muslims in the United Kingdom to vote and encourage each other to vote.his Thursday, 23 June, as they will be voting to decide whether we stay in or out of the European Union.
The Council described the vote as a crucial decision we all must make, and it is vitally important that British Muslims understand the arguments and vote this Thursday.
In a statemen issued today MCB said '' While we undertake our spiritual obligations during this blessed month of Ramadan, we encourage all to go through the arguments and make an informed decision this Thursday''.
.
At the start of the campaign the Muslim Council of Britain said: "We recognise there are different views on this, and all we ask for is an informed debate that does not scapegoat minorities."
Unfortunately we have seen cases of xenophobia, Islamophobia and outright racism during the campaign. We hope these are not the driving factor behind any victory.
Campaigns should be run based on issues and not scaremongering, and in these last few days, we urge both sides to talk about the issues that matter to the British people.
