A court in Wagda, in eastern Morocco, has delayed a lawsuit filed by a Moroccan journalist against the Islamic preacher Abdoullah Nahary until April 16 due to the absence of the complaining party and other parties involved in the dispute. Nahary is accused of direct incitement to murder in his sermons and online communications related to his condemnation of articles by Moroccan journalist el-Mukhtar el-Ghiziwy on sexual freedom in the Arab world. El-Ghiziwy described the way Arab countries deal with such issued as “sexual hypocrisy.” Statements by the journalist called for sexual liberation, currently facing tough criticism from many people inside Morocco, including Abdoullah Nahary, who stressed they were in contravention of Islamic law.
