Morsi reschedules Egyptian elections

Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi has rescheduled legislative elections originally slated for April 27-28, following requests from the country’s Coptic community. Elections will now take place on April 22-23. Egyptian Copts had called for a reschedule because the original voting period would have clashed with Christian festivals. President Morsi also announced a second elected parliament would meet for the first time at the start of a new legislative term, beginning July 2.
