
Iraqi security forces arrested a notorious leader of al-Qaeda, his number two and three men in Baghdad on Friday night. Insider sources told Arab Today that security forces detained the men during a raid on a property in the Yarmouk area of the Iraqi capital. It is believe the al-Qaeda leader work as a driver for the Ministry of Education. Meanwhile, authorities confirmed no one was injured after a small explosion outside a mosque in the Saladin province, north of Baghdad. Locals said a security officers surrounded the al-Katmir mosque, in the village of Jamila, and carried out a thorough search of the building to make sure there were no other hidden devices. The Iraqi province of Saladin has has seen a surge in violence since the beginning of the year, with several police officers being assassinated, and a spate of car bomb attacks.
