
The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Mr. Iyad Ameen Madani, strongly condemned the car bomb attack in Istanbul on 7 June 2016 that killed at least 11 people and injured many more in the holy month of Ramadan. He offered his sincere condolences to the families of the victims, Government and people of Turkey on the tragic loss of lives, and wished early recovery to the injured people.
The OIC Secretary General said the attack is cowardly and criminal act that runs contrary to the spirit and teachings of Islam. He further reiterated the principled position of the OIC against all forms and manifestations of terrorism.
