Heavy mortar shelling by “non-Libyan” Tabu tribes early Tuesday killed a 14-year-old girl and wounded several civilians, in addition to hitting five houses in the town centre said a citizen in the southern Libyan city of Kufra. An eyewitness told ‘Arabstoday’ that clashes are ongoing between residents and Tabu militias, indicating that the death toll among town residents has reached 11. “National air force planes are roaming the city skies to prevent the entry of Chad forces from Libyan borders,” said the witness. The witness, who wished to remain anonymous, said that city rebels were able to defeat the forces of Issa Abdul Majid, the leader of the Tabu militia, and chased them out of the city “in addition to detaining 30 fighters from the Sudanese Justice and Equality Movement (JEM).” City residents issued a statement holding the National Transitional Council and the Defence Minister accountable, following their media statements saying that the incidents in the region were mere tribal clashes, without withouth mentioning the Chadian militia that attacked Libyans. “The hospital in the city suffers a serious lack of doctors, assistant doctors, medical equipment, and necessary basic supplies, in addition to a lack of blood due to the increasing number of wounded,” the eyewitness indicated. Meanwhile, a large number of wounded from Kufra arrived at Benghazi by plane late on Monday.the t
