More than 5,730 Moroccan nationals have fled the ongoing violence in Libya until March 5, thanks to the voluntary evacuation operation led by Moroccan authorities, Maghreb Arabe Press (MAP) reported.
According to data collected by MAP at the Tunisian border crossing of Ras Ajdir, the main border crossing between Tunisia and Libya, the monitoring unit has delivered 950 passes to Moroccan citizens who do not have passports or children of Moroccan nationals married to Libyans and registered on the Moroccan civil status.
The cell also issued 740 “engagement acts” for Moroccan citizens blocked at this border crossing to allow them pass and continue their journey to the Tunisian Carthage airport and then to Casablanca.
