Palestinian resistance attacks ‘false’ statement

Qassam Brigades in the Gaza Strip have denied threatening the Egyptian army with violence, following an online statement purporting to come from the Hamas-affiliated military organisation. The Qassam Brigades said they were “not responsible for statements that do not appear on its official website,” meanwhile condemning Egyptian media sources for spreading the “false and fabricated statement.” "Those who drafted this statement -- with its trite and naïve style, which does not represent the Qassam Brigades, its moral codes or policies -- do not have Egypt's, or the Palestinian people's, good at heart," the statement said. The Hamas-affiliated group claimed the statement represented an attempt to “tarnish the image of the Palestinian resistance.
