
The US Pentagon stressed that there is no plan to introduce any change to the international peacekeeping force operating in Sinai
The US is still committed to backing the mission of the international peacekeepers in Sinai, said Pentagon spokesman Jeff Davis.
He added that the US has increased the number of its peacekeepers in Sinai lately and that it is keen on backing this force by necessary equipment.
As regards investigations into the crash of the Russian plane in central Sinai this week, he said investigations are still going on, expressing condolences to the families of the victims.
The crash left 224 passengers and crew members dead.
He added that the US, like Russia, is keen to find the truth behind the crash.
