The Sudanese Foreign Ministry has demanded the Norwegian candidate ambassador to withdraw one of their diplomats in Norwegian embassy in Khartoum on Wednesday afternoon. This came after the Norwegian FM demanded a Sudanese diplomat to leave the country deeming his activities as incompatible with his diplomatic position. According to the Norwegian Foreign Ministry, he was asked to leave due to suspension of spying on Sudanese refugees there. However, the official spokesman for the Norwegian Foreign Ministry, Kjetil Alesposaid said: “The Norwegian Foreign Ministry did not announce the diplomat persona non grata officially but they do expect him to leave the country." The Sudanese ambassador in Oslo denied Sudan involvement or any embassy staff in any espionage operations and hopes that this step will not affect the developing relations between both countries.
