Sudanese President Omar Hassan Al-Bashir has been given a report by Defence minister Abdel Rahim Mohamed Hussein following a security meeting between Sudan and South Sudan. Spokesman for Sudan's cabinet, Omar Mohamed Saleh, said in a press statement that the minister of defence discussed an agreement between the two countries through which they withdrew from the demilitarised zone. He added that they have agreed to establish a joint mechanism to consider the complaints, including support for armed movements. Sudan’s ruling National Conference Party also expressed support for the agreement on Thursday, stressing their keenness in executing provisions. Sudan’s Minister of Oil, Dr Awad el-Gas, issued orders to petroleum companies to take necessary measures to transfer and export the oil produced in Sudan to South Sudan.
