Ali Osman Taha, first Vice President of Sudan, will be ehading to Cairo on Tuesday for three days, after the visit was postponed several times. Meetings will be held during the visit with Field Marshal Mohammed Hussein Tantawi, the commander-in-chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces and the Prime Minister of Egypt Essam Sharaf. Taha will also be meeting with Egyptian political powers and businessmen, in addition to the Sudanese delegation in Cairo. Kamal Hassan, Sudan’s Ambassador in Cairo explained that Taha’s visit comes at a very important time in the relationship between Cairo and Khartoum. Both cities have recently witnessed several visits from their leaders; the most prominent visit being that of Doctor Nafei Ali Nafi, Sudanese Presidential Assistant‘s visit to Cairo, and Sharaf’s visit to Khartoum. Both sides agreed to pay increased attention to the file of food security, to stimulate the economic and investment sides, especially agriculture, in addition to the joint coordination at both regional and international levels.
