
Leader of the popular resistance movement in Suez, Sheikh Hafez Salama, accused the Muslim Brotherhood ?and the supporters of ousted President Mohammed Morsi of storming and taking over al-Shahadaa ?Mosque in Suez, and using it to launch attacks againt military forces during clashes.? Salama stressed in an official report to the Suez Security Directorate that the Brotherhood ?and Morsi’s supporters invaded the second and third floor of the mosque after breaking down the ?doors and stealing electronic devices that were set aside as wedding gifts for those without families. Salama said in statement that a lot of the interior of the mosque was broken as well as all ?windows and added that the intruders used the upper floors of the mosque to attack police with machineguns. Sheikh Salama condemned the violence that left many dead and ?the burning of armoured vehicles belonging to the army in Suez. The sheikh called on everyone to be committed to preserving Egypt and warned against an American plot to create strife.
