Director of the Office of Syrian Refugees in Lebanon, Syrian activist Khaled Mostafa, has survived an assassination attempt in his office in Tripoli. Unknown assailants fired on Mostafa, also known as Abu Raed, with a silenced revolver in his office in Abu Samra, near Ihsan Mosque in the northern Lebanese city, security sources said. No one was injured in the attack. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident after Raed reported receiving death threats from individuals claiming to be supporters of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s regime. Tripoli has witnessed a recent up-tick in violence in recent months as the city’s Sunni and Alawite residents clash over disputes linked to the two-year Syrian conflict.,
