The Supreme State Security Emergency Court in Cairo has started on Saturday the first session of the case against 76 protesters, including the former police officer, Amr Afifi, who lives in US, accused of attacking the embassies of Israel and Saudi Arabia in Cairo, and damaging of Giza Security Directorate. Charges against the first 75 defendants include the unlawful use of violence, attempting to break into the Giza Security Directorate headquarters, illegal ownership of weapons and setting cars on fire. While the last defendant, Amr afifi’s charges include incitement of these crimes. This first session started amid high security with Central Security Forces soldiers and metal bars surrounding the New Cairo court, meanwhile, family members of the accused gathered in front of the court, demanding the release of the accused and alleging that the case is rigged.
