Tunisia has ratified the charter of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The Tunisian Ambassador to KSA and the permanent representative to the OIC Najib Al-Muneef handed the ratification instruments to the Secretary General of the OIC Ekmeleddin ?hsano?lu. The secretary General of the OIC said “Tunisia’s deposit to its ratification instruments for the OIC charter assures its role and its effective presence in the organization, and its full commitment in supporting the common Islamic work, also its participation in all the organization’s activities in various fields.” O?lu stressed on the solidarity of the OIC with the Republic of Tunisia assuring the organizations’ support to achieve the revolution’s objectives, and for the Tunisian people to achieve the principles of pluralism, human rights, good governance, democracy, establishing the rule of law and institutions to bring security, stability, progress and prosperity for the country. O?lu congratulated Tunisia over the democratic process that followed the revolution which resulted in elections of the Constituent National Council and Dr Mohamed Moncef Marzouqi as a president through free and transparent democratic elections, and on announcing the new government which runs the country during the coming constituent period, hoping for this period to bring stability and prosperity.
