A source from Tunisia’s security force has revealed that the National Guard seized a large cache of weapons from a house located in the country’s capital Tunis. The weapons, which included dozens of RPG aircraft bombers and Kalashnikov guns, were detected at a house in the Ariana province of Tunis. The owner of the house has now been arrested, while security forces continue to investigate whether the weapons were intended for use in terrorist attacks. Tunisia is currently on high alert following the assassination of opposition leader Chokri Belaid, which resulted in mass protests and violence across the country. Earlier this year, security forces found a stash of weapons located in another area of Tunis, in the province of Medenine. The supply of weapons, considered to be one of the biggest found in the country’s history, included explosives, mines, bombs, rocket launchers and RPG mortars.
