Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu is visiting Gaza on Tuesday under the initiative of the Arab ministers in solidarity with Gaza, according to diplomatic sources. Davutoglu is holding many meetings to discuss the situation in Gaza. He headed yesterday to Cairo where he met with Hamas’ leader, Khaled Meshaal, Egyptian foreign minister, Mohammed Kamel Amr, and Qatar Prime Minister Shiekh, Hamad Ben Jassem. Before he left Cairo, Davutoglu made a phone call with his American counterpart, Hillary Clinton discussing the situation in Gaza. An Arab minister convoy is heading to Gaza on Tuesday under the leadership of the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Nabil Al-Araby to show solidarity with people of Gaza Strip and to identify the size of the damage resulting from the Israeli ongoing military operations since last Wednesday. The date of the visit was set during a phone call between Dr. Nabil Al-Araby, and Mahmoud Abbas, president of the Palestinian Authority to brief him on the results of the Arab Ministerial meeting held on Saturday, according to a source from the secretariat of the Arab League. The secretariat of the Arab League started consultations with the Arab countries to form the convoy. In an urgent meeting, Foreign ministers of the Arab League called for forming a ministerial committee with open membership to visit the Strip in solidarity with the Palestinian People and addressing its Humanitarian needs promptly.
