
The UN signed Saturday a Protocol of Amendment to invigorate and enhance cooperation with the Arab League.
A signing ceremony was held at the UN headquarters on the sidelines of the General Assembly 71st session.
During the signing ceremony, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon told his Arab League counterpart Ahmed Aboul Gheit that since the founding of the UN in 1945, the Arab League has been a valued partner. "I am proud of the step we are taking today and all of our work together over my last ten years as Secretary General," he added.
The outgoing UN chief expressed to Abu Al Gheit that his colleagues will work closely with the Arab organization to continue this commitment and further strengthen the partnership.
