United Nations High commissioner for Refugees, UNHCR, has announced that it registered 48,000 displaced Syrian citizens during the month of March 2013. This brings the number of registered displaced Syrians and those who are waiting for their registration to 396,931. Out of this number, 145,524 will be registered to various UNHCR offices in Lebanon. The registered refugees in Lebanon are distributed as follows: - North Lebanon: 110,204. - Bekaa: 95,457. - Beirut and Lebanon Mountain: 25,746. - South Lebanon: 20,000. The Commission reported that the number of displaced in Jordan, Turkey, Iraq, Egypt and Lebanon, reached one million in early March - by the end of the same month, the number had reached 1.2 million people, showing a 20 percent increase.
