Video shows Alaa Mubarek in Tora prison

Gossip and rumours casting doubt on the fact that the figureheads of the former Egyptian regime are being imprisoned in Tora prison were dispelled on Monday when the programme "Cairo Station" on the "Modern Egyptian Freedom" channel aired a video showing the son of former Egyptian President Mubarek, Alaa, coming out of his cell. The video displayed Fathi Sorour, former President of the People's Assembly and Shura Council, with Ibrahim Sulaiman, a former Housing Minister, Ahmed Al-Maghrabi, another former Housing Minister, and former Tourism Minister, Zuhair Garranah, sitting together outside the prison ward. This video appeared after the adoption of the principle of “openness” in the trials, to reassure the Egyptian people that these men are in Tora prison, denying the rumours and gossip currently circulating.
