1 killed, 21 wounded in Afghan anti-US protests

One person was killed and 10 were wounded when shots were fired at anti-US demonstrators in the eastern Afghan city of Jalalabad on Wednesday, a doctor told AFP. "I saw the body myself. He is a young man from the protesters," Doctor Ahmad Ali said, adding that 10 others had been admitted to Jalalabad hospital with gunshot wounds. In the capital Kabul, at least 11 people were wounded when shots were fired into a crowd of demonstrators trying to march on the city centre to protest the burning of copies of the Koran by NATO troops.
