A 33-year-old man was killed and three other people were wounded when gunfire broke out during a rap concert at Irving Plaza in Manhattan in New York on Wednesday, sending panicked concertgoers streaming for the exits, the police and witnesses said.
There were no reports yet on the status of the injured or the fate of the shooter and his identity and motives. The victims were three men and one woman, a spokesman for the New York Police Department said. One of the men arrived at New York University Medical Center on his own, the police said.
The incident took place before the start of the concert about 10:00 o'clock pm local time. The motive for the shootings was unclear, and no arrests had been made as of late Wednesday night, (The New York Times) quoted police as saying.
Detectives were interviewing people who attended the concert and looking at video footage from inside and outside the venue.
