The 12th meeting of the tripartite committee on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) kicked off here on Monday in the presence of delegations from Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia.
The meeting aims at preparing the final formula of contracts that will be signed with the technical consultative offices before they are to be initially signed by the three countries' ministers in an official ceremony to be held on Tuesday.
Delegations attending the meeting will make a final review of the contracts outlined by two French consultative offices to carry out technical studies on the impact of the dam construction on the water quotas of the upper stream countries; Egypt and Sudan.
Egypt's delegation at the committee is chaired by Head of the Nile Water Sector at the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation Ahmed Bahaa.
