At least 18 persons were killed including two political activists during acts of violence over the last twenty-four hours at various locations in the Pakistani city of Karachi. Local police explained that the said incidents occurred in various parts of the city such as (Oringi, Nusrat Bhutto, Kaloni, Jamshid road, Zaman town, Ilyas Ghut, Qaed Abad, Vali Market and Jamshid town. The police reported that the victims included two political activists known by the names of Nihal Akhtar and Noor al-Huda who belonged to the United National Movement's (MQM) political party who have been killed by gunfire in (Oringi) district.
