Two Iranian warships on Saturday docked at Port-Sudan harbor in eastern Sudan. The Sudanese Navy held an official reception for the Iranian warships which would stay at Port-Sudan for three days. The Sudanese army said on Friday the visit of warships came as part of routine work and tended to boost strong ties between Khartoum and Tehran. On Oct. 29, two Iranian warships docked at Port-Sudan shortly after an Israeli aerial attack against Al-Yarmouk arms factory complex in the Sudanese capital Khartoum. Israel claimed that Al-Yarmouk factory was producing arms to back the Islamic Hamas movement with Iranian support, but Sudanese authorities refuted any relation between Iran and the factory and maintained that the visits of the Iranian warships to Port-Sudan harbor did not have any military or political connotations.
