President Ollanta Humala will soon name replacements for two ministers who resigned on Monday, a high-ranking government official said. Juan Jimenez, president of the Council of Ministers, said that Foreign Trade Minister Jose Luis Silva resigned for "personal reasons." Jimenez did not say why Carolina Trivelli left as minister of Development and Social Inclusion, one of the primary ministries in Humala's administration. Silva and Trivelli were "excellent ministers" who worked hard and fulfilled their responsibilities, Jimenez said, adding that the ministers' replacements would be announced before July 28, the 192nd anniversary of Peru's independence from Spain. It is common for Peruvian presidents to replace cabinet members prior to the July 28 holiday.
