
Anti-narcotics agents arrested 25 people and seized large amounts of drugs in a week-long campaign to track down drug trade suspects in the Kingdom’s various governorates, according to the Public Security Department’s media centre.A statement released by the centre on Tuesday said that the Anti-Narcotics Administration had from time to time carried out campaigns to arrest drug dealers “active in selling contraband to individuals in society.”It said a crackdown, which began early last week for that purpose, culminated in the seizure of 40 kg of hashish, one kg of heroin and 26,000 drug pills in 21 cases involving 25 people, who were all apprehended.Among the most serious cases, it said, was the arrest of a drug dealer who was found in possession of 13 kg of hashish when caught in the Central Badia region and another with one kg of heroin in the northern city of Mafraq. The department said such campaigns were going on across the country.
