Three Afghan policemen were wounded Saturday morning in a bomb explosion in the country's western province of Farah, according to a source. "Three police officers wounded in an improvised explosive device (IED) attack in Shar-e-kohna area of the provincial capital at around 9:00 a.m. local time. The injured were shifted to a hospital and their wounds were not life-threatening," a provincial police spokesman Najib Afghan told Xinhua. He said the police vehicle was running when the attack took place. Afghan Taliban has launched massive IED attack against the Afghan national security forces and over 87,000 NATO-led troops stationed in the country. The Taliban-led attacks and unrest had plagued parts of the war- torn country since late April, when the Taliban insurgent group launched a yearly rebel offensive.
