3 killed in Johannesburg plane crash

At least three people were killed when a light aircraft crashed at Lanseria Airport in Johannesburg on Monday morning, authorities said. The plane crashed and burst into flames while attempting to land in bad weather, according to emergency agency ER24. Lanseria Airport authorities denied initial reports that at least 21 people were on board, confirming that there were only three on the plane, all of whom died. "Unfortunately all three people on board, two passengers and a pilot are dead. It is too early to speculate about the cause," Lanseria chief executive officer Gavin Sayce said. Lanseria flights were not affected by the fatal crash, Sayce said. "The airport is fully operational despite the crash," he said.
