Unknown armed men opened fire at a police check post in Matani area of Peshawar in Pakistan early Wednesday, injuring three policemen. The injured security men were shifted to a hospital in Peshawar for treatment. Meanwhile, at least seven policemen were killed in two separate incidents in Pakistan last night. Local media reported that three policemen were killed in different areas of Karachi late on Tuesday night. Earlier on Tuesday night, in Pakistan's eastern district of Gujrat, four policemen were killed by unknown gunmen. The gunmen coming on two motorbikes opened fired at the police on duty near a railway intersection in the district, killing three policemen right on the spot, said local reports, adding that another injured cop died later in hospital. No group has claimed responsibility for the two attacks.
