Some 552 persons involved in the ongoing events in Syria were released from custody Thursday, the Syrian News Agency (Sana) reported today. The released persons are not involved in terrorist bloody acts of killings and explosions against the Syrians, the agency added. In a related development, the Arab League announced earlier Wednesday that the Arab Ministerial Committee assigned with the Syrian crisis will convene on Sunday next instead of Saturday because of Egypt''s Christmass celebrations coinciding on Saturday. Arab League Assistant Secretary General Ambassador Ahmed Bin Helli said in a statement issued here that during the meeting the participants are to discuss the preliminary report of the hed of the Arab League Observer Mission in Syria Lt.Gen. Mohamed Ahmed Ad-Dabi on the outcome of the monitoring mission of the concerened teams over the past few days on the ground.(QNA) M A R/MD
